Highland
Wildlife
Highland
wildlife can be explored by visiting the Cairngorm Reindeer
herd at the foot of the Cairngorms, the dolphins on the Moray
coast at Fort George, the ospreys at Boat of Garten or by
visiting one of the Highland wildlife parks at Feshie Bridge,
on the Black Isle or at Tomatin.
Bird
Watching in Moray, Badenoch and Strathspey
The
presence of bird life in an area is greatly influenced by
the type of landscape it contains. In the case of the lands
along the River Spey and the Moray coast we have just about
everything from the freezing arctic conditions of the high
Cairngorm plateau to the relatively balmy shores of the Moray
Firth. This variety of landscapes produces a corresponding
variety of habitats, and this explains the rich and varied
selection of birds that live in the area.
