The Cairngorms National Park is Britain's largest National Park. The boundaries of the Park stretch from Grantown-on-Spey to the Angus Glens; from Ballater to Dalwhinnie and Drumochter and include much of the Laggan area in the south west as well as a large area of Glen Livet estate and the Strathdon/Glen Buchat area. The Cairngorms' rich cultural heritage is also part of what makes it exceptional.

Scottish National Parks differ from many other national parks around the world in that they have social and economic development focus alongside the aims of conservation, understanding and enjoyment of the countryside.
Birchfield Cottages are 720 feet above sea level. They are five minutes walk from the Nethy Bridge village shop/post office and butcher (both will take orders to deliver for your arrival), tennis courts and bowling green. Within one mile there are two hotels serving meals to visitors and the Strathspey steam railway.
