Birch Croit stands separately facing south across the “courtyard”. The accommodation is on one floor accessed by three steps. The main open plan room has wood effect flooring with a rug in front of the open fire. There is a built in oven and hob, and the sink by the window can give the washer-up a first class view of a variety of small birds and, perhaps, a red squirrel or two.
The bedroom can be made up with a six foot double bed or two three foot single beds. There is a fitted dressing table, drawers, two wardrobes and overhead cupboards. The window at the rear of the bedroom looks out over fields to the Grantown hills.
The bathroom is en-suite with a shower over the bath.
The cottage is centrally heated with the oil-fired boiler in the undercroft (cellar) which is entered down four steps outside the cottage and is useful for secure storage of sports equipment, pushchairs etc. and also for drying any wet weather gear. There is also a freezer here. Wood and coal are provided free of charge and are stored at the rear of the cottage where there is also a washing line.
